JSP leaders meet with Prime Minister Deuba to discuss Madhesh’s agenda

A delegation of prominent leaders from the Nepalese political party Janata Samajbadi (JSP) visited Sher Bahadur Deuba, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Nepal Parliament.

Leaders Mahanta Thakur, Rajendra Mahato, Sharat Singh Bhandari, Lakshman Lal Karna and other leaders arrived today at the residence of Prime Minister Baluvatar to meet with him.

During the meeting, the delegation brought the government’s attention to Madhesh’s needs and agenda.

Similarly, issues related to the Citizenship Amendment Act, the Madhesh Movement, reports from the Lala Commission, and constitutional amendment requirements were discussed. The delegation brought the Prime Minister’s attention to consideration of the Madhesh movement’s call to halt, the publication of the Lala Commission report and amendments to the Constitution.

In response, the prime minister called for a vote of confidence in the parliament, promised to meet Madhesh’s demands, and said he would act in this direction as soon as the government is fully formed.
